Jorethang
Jorethang at an elevation of 1,700 feet (518 meters) is a bustling town and an important transportation hub for South and West Sikkim.
It is not an important tourist destination but attractions include the Akar Suspension Bridge and the Sisney Temple. However, Jorethang is a gateway to Rinchenpong where one gets to experience Sikkimese village life and the hot springs and holy caves of Reishi.
Jorethang becomes vibrant in January when the town hosts the annual Maghey Mela which showcases the culture of the locals.

How to get there (transport)
- Approved local travel and tour agents provide transportation to Jorethang.
- It approximately takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Jorethang from Gangtok.
- Buses and shared taxis are easily available in Jorethang to all major parts of Sikkim like Namchi (1 hour journey), Ravangla (1 hour journey), Pelling (3 hours journey), Gangtok (4 to 5 hours journey)and Siliguri (3.5 hours journey) in West Bengal.
