Phensang Monastery
This monastery lies in one of the most picturesque locales of Sikkim between Kabi Lungchok and Phodong Monastery. Phensang or Phensong Monastery is of the Nyingmapa Order of Tibetan Buddhism and was constructed in 1721 by Jigme Pawo.
In 1947, it was completely razed by fire but was rebuilt in 1948 by the lamas (monks). The annual festival of Chaam is celebrated here on the 28th and 29th days of the tenth month of the Lunar Tibetan Calendar (December/January).
