Kabi Lungchok
Not too far from Gangtok at a distance of approximately 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) lies the historic Kabi Lungchok or Kabi Longtsok within a densely wooded area. This is the place where the Bhutia or Tibetan chieftain Khey-Bumsar or Khey-Bum-Sa pledged a blood brotherhood with the Lepcha chief and shaman Te-Kung-Tek. A stone pillar has been erected at that spot in memory of the pledge.
Additionally, the Thakurbari Temple in Gangtok has a Statute of Unity to commemorate this historical occasion.
