Mangan
Mangan is at an elevation of about 3,136 feet (956 metres) and the gateway to North Sikkim including Lachung, Chungthang and Lachen. Mangan is the administrative as well as the commercial hub of North Sikkim and is approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) from Gangtok.
Mangan has a temperate climate. It is well-known for its large cardamom and the exquisite views of the Mt. Kanchenjunga (Mt. Khangchendzonga), the third highest mountain in the world as well as Mt. Siniolchu, which is thought to be one of the most graceful and beautiful mountains in the world. Don’t miss the viewpoint that’s 1.5 kilometers (0.6 miles) away from Mangan for panoramic views on a clear day.
